The Advanced Energy Center is calling on the United States to completely eliminate its dependence on foreign energy sources by July 4, 2016. The Advanced Energy Center is using the Independence Day holiday to form a correlation between the original independence of the United States from England and the country’s independence from relying on other nations for energy importation. Currently, more than 50 percent of the energy resources used in the United States come from foreign sources. The Advanced Energy Center feels this puts the nation at too great a risk to the political unrest of other countries.
